Hello,

I am in Southern CA. Orange County. Can anyone from same area recommend a good independent shop who does quality work for basic items like clutch replacment , brakes etc??? Charging a bit less compare to dealers??

Here are the official tech inspection stations for the Porsche Owner's Club. I didn't attempt to sort out the shops in Orange County from the others as it was a lot easier to just cut & paste the complete list. All of these shops are more than highly competent. They provide technical support to the guys who race with the POC, many/most of them are racers themselves and they all know a lot about all things Porsche.

I have found them to be reliable, thorough and their prices are friendly.
I let them do all the non-warranty work on my 996.

Work done for me so far:
- Front Brake replacement (rotors, pads and sensors): $170 plus the parts which I supplied
- refinishing of 2 rims (curb rash and a gauge from previous owner): $125 per rim
- refinishing of entire leather and plastic interior (scuffs and scratches): $275
- 45,000 mile service: $270
