cong~~ on your new car, and also u just discovered the best website for porsches! you will have a lot of things to read
1. someone was quoted $400 for windshield replacement, seems to be good deal. lots of guys had it down around $500 or $600. do a search on "windshield".
2. igniotion switch.
3. check your coolain cap, as someone else suggested. if it's part # ending with "00", replace with a new one part# ending with "01" over the time, the old coolain cap developed a small leak, and the burning smell of coolain.
4. there is a TSB about how to extend your remote range. again, search is your best friend.
i had CEL and it was a vacume leak, i would reset the code and drive it as normal, make sure it comes back with the same code.

Not sure if the front aero is OEM. The side skirts and rear GT2 wings seem to be.
I'm going to try cleaning the MAF today and see if that helps with the CEL.
There are a few issues that bother me and I need to fix - open to suggestions -
1. The windshield is really bad when the sun glares on it. I think I should replace it since I love a clean look but don't want to start any problems.
2. The left side dash lights are out and my mechanic tried to replace the bulbs but it didn't work - we decided to leave it for next time since I was in a rush.
3. Sometimes there is a burning smell after a good run. Can't find anything leaking. Could it be the new clutch breaking in ?
4. my key fob doesn't seem to work very well. Needs to be line of sight and only within about 5 feet. I chnaged the battery but it didn't make a difference. What distanc e does your work at ? Do you have to hold the button down for a few seconds ?
Thanks

Just cleaned the MAF (the Torx driver was part of a kit for $22). Cleared the codes and now only time will tell. Thanks to all.
Will check the coolant cap and might as well order a new one.

Not all the orginal coolant caps are bad. I still have my orginal with no leaks. Test the system for proper sealing by removing the cap 4 hours or so after driving the car. If there is vacuum heard while removing, your cooling system is most probably fine and should be left alone.

Thanks - will do. Just took it out for a hard 45 minute drive after cleaning the MAF. Not high end driving but more stop/go/accel.
No CEL but sometimes it takes a day or so. No smell when I pulled in.

Forgot to ask - my imagination or did the car feel to have a noticeable pep increase to it after the MAF cleaning ?
Also, found out that I have the Fabspeed cold air intake with the BMC filter.

Ramp,
I noticed some improvement, hard to determine if it was 'more power' or 'smoother' after cleaning mine. I, however, did both the maf and intake at the same time. Not sure which helped.
With you having the BMC, you probably cleaned a little oil soot off the maf, but I would recommend the intake plenums too. Do a search on it here for a diy. Basically a makeshift cloth on a stick/screwdriver works pretty well using intake cleaner. I used a single chop stick I stole out of the kitchen. Felt better sticking a wooden item in vs. a metal.
PS, I added a k&n drop in and the fabspeed (siclicone hose) on mine. I went back to stock filter just out of fears on the oiled types and failed maf's. Maybe overkill but now I don't have to worry. I kept the Fabspeed pipe on thought, it really smoothed out accelleration on my car.
Great news on the CEL (hopefully permanent)
