As a secondary car to P, which do you recommend? 07 Jag XK-R or BMW M6?

go with the new XKR..420 HP, closer to the M6 price, better looking for sure. The first of the 3 pictures is the XKR. Most people would rather have the M5 than the M6 and save close to $20,000 for what is basically the same car but the carbon fibre roof, and 2 less door.
If you want more prestige, go get the AMV8 or a second hand DB9, for about $140k. Even though the designer of the XK and the DB9 is the same, but you can't beat an Aston badge..

the xk is an very very ugly ford model looking car in person.....the photo's make the car look much better..in real life it looks like a ford focus coupe convertable...yikes!!! the front grill is a joke!!
Sorry my honest (maybe to honest) opinion...I love the M6...and that the 7 series has an ugle trunklid....you will never mistake it for any japanse or american made car!!!

I owned a 2005 645i and with the exception of my 997 it got the most comments about its good looks. The M6 would be a mean car. The rear seat room is not a reason to buy it however, unless you have short kids or friends.

I've driven the M5 and M6, and they are great fun with the SMG. However I would not be so quick to pick the M6 over the Jag based on predicted reliability. Before you scoff, go over to the M5Board and read all the posts on M5 SMG failures. Pretty sobering in my opinion for someone thinking of choosing this car based on reliability.

I think the new '07 Jag. XK and XKR are really sharp looking. I have not driven one (the XKR is not out yet anyway) but went to the dealer to look at the interior. It is spectacular! Beautiful interior. I could get over the front end look easily. The rest of the car is really hot. I love the lines. I may buy one myself.

From your review: Performance: The Jag boasts of an impressive 4.2L V12 – but that develops only 300 bhp.

M6 or not, the 6-series is a mean car, much more so than SL 500 or Jag XK (which I think is a little feminine. women around me adore Jags).
How did your 645i perform under your ownership? 6-series has so much premium that I see more 996 on the street. M6 at a local dealer was $120K, including $20K premium.
