Default Starting My 996 Search

I am getting ready to unload my 964 and pretty much have narrowed it down to a 00 or 01 Cabriolet. I have a few questions for the savvy 996 owners. I am pretty sure I am going to avoid the 99's because of the first year issues and if I recall the 00-01 interiors are a little nicer, but I am not ruling them out totally. While I'll certainly get a PPI done before the purchase are there any issues I need to be on the look-out for when looking for a 996? Any input would be helpful.

I am looking for a 996 Cabriolet, 6 speed, average to lower mileage. Prefer Yellow, Black, Silver or maybe Red. Looking to spend around $35K-40K.

A good service history is a healthy motor.

In that price range you are looking at the years you mention. As such, a Porsche Certified Used is almost certainly not going to be an option. So you'll be looking for a very well maintained private owner's car. I'd start with the PCA classifieds.

Good luck.
