When looking at a car don't just look at the Carfax but look into it's maintenance history too. If the owner was good about it the manual will show regular maint visits with stamps or notes with dates etc. A car with good records is good thing.

Wow, an Impala to a 996 - that's got to be one of the bigger jumps in the car world.

I went from a 540i to a 964 to a 996 - good job, Mr. Impala man.

BTW, make sure you have enough $$$ to fix things if they break - despite the talk about the low insurance costs and cheap labor, these things can cost big big bucks to fix.
