How many miles do you have on yours?

I have 75K and get the smoke also the next day- after a hard drive.

9900 miles - I get white smoke for about 2 minutes on a cold start when the car has been sitting.

White smoke seems part of the Porsche experience - I used to get it with my 1994 too. As long as it goes away after a few minutes, it's no problem.

You've got 75k on your Cab? It looks great in the avatar....

White smoke for 2 minutes is too long. Typically a short burst of smoke on startup is normal, maybe even up to 20-25 seconds if the car has sat for a period of time. Anything longer than that, and you start suspecting a bad oil/air seperator.

_____________
doc, if oil/air seperator is not fixed, what will happen?
i get the occasional, normal white smoke unpon start up, uusally after 30 min of track session then parked for another 30 min.

but i just noticed i get large puff of white smoke at tight 60mph left hairpins, like T2 at laguna seca. it occurs just when i shift from 2nd to third. is this normal, ok, or something is broken?

car felt the same, i even set my best time on one of those laps at 1:45. (cayman S)

OK, maybe 2 minutes is exaggerating a bit. I see it when it starts, rev it a few times, and it's gone.

You're right, 2 minutes is too long....
