This should be interesting, but I think easily >100K... depends on where you live and driving style.

Since it is all driver dependant, the answer is anywhere from 5,000 - 150,000 miles.

This question has been posed many times. If you drive your car gently, and right, don't ride the clutch, ie, drive it optimally, your clutch can last you over 100k.

On the otherhand, if you want to fry a brand new clutch in 5 minutes, put it in 4th gear and drive around.

I'd say average, 60k tho.

49K miles for me

OK, I'll elaborate: that was the previous owner. I got the car at 50K miles

Totally related to the nut behind the wheel.......

If you are not getting close to 100k you should check your driving style - even in competition you should not be killing the clutch.

If you only get 30,000 miles out of your clutch and you're not regularly pulling hole shots, you need to go back to driving school or be driving a TIP.

My guess is 30-75k depending on how it's driven (freeway vs stop and go, hills, # of hard launch).

EXACTLY. As mentioned before, if you're morning commute is 50 miles each way on a freeway, then you're clutch is going to 'last' a lot longer than someone who commutes in stop and go traffic all day.

It would be interesting to measure the incidences of depression for the clutch pedal to get a more accurage guage of whom is the better 'shifter'.

I just had an RMS done at 32K. I asked if it looked like I needed the clutch replaced. The dealer said it was less than half worn why bother. It's odd to have a dealer suggest that you save money and not put in new parts.

I just had the RMS/IMS replaced on my 2002(56k miles) at Stevenson Porsche in Littleton, Colo. and they called me at home so I could inspect the clutch, etc. I went to their facility and the clutch, flywheel, etc. were in good shape and didn't need to be replaced. Very professional people and a pleasure to do business with and I had the car back in less than 6 hours for a fair price. If your in the area, talk to Jim(Service Manager) and Jesse Adams(Technician). I highly recommend them for any service or repair.
