Last fall I did the OBC Hack using a footwell light switch, but I got tired of reaching around the steering wheel to switch functions. I recently picked up a 4 stalk column switch and want to swap out the light switch. Toolpants (or anyone else), can I use the wiring for the light switch and just adapt it to the column stalk switch. Any help will be appreciated!!

Ironically, I also modified the footwell light switch so the indicator light up to show when my spoiler is raised so I won't be getting rid of it. I have a couple on exra footwell light switches if anyone is looking for one.

I was looking for a clarification on this hack, after doing a search. Is this a true statement? (for '00):

"If temperature is being displayed, the OBC has been activated. The stalk (or switch) can be added to cycle through the functions".

You need to start over. The wire harness for the switch is different then for the stalk. You also need a connector for the stalk that you diid not need with the switch.

You will also go from VW 2 wires to the instrument cluster to 4 wires.

But someone will buy your used parts.
