Just went through a security checkpoint here (Dallas) this morning. The police had both directions stopped (2 lanes each way) with an army of cops on both sides. They were checking license, insurance, inspection, registration. But apparently, they weren't interested in my missing front plate (knock on wood). Thanks for the Bumper Plugs Eric!
As it turns out, almost everyone in the line got the 3rd degree treatment, but when it was my turn, I stuck my papers out the window and he just waved me and the P-car through - didn't even look at my stuff. Hell, that's better than the
VIP treatment at the Valet... lol

I get the opposite treatment when going through Border Patrol checkpoints going to and from AZ from CA.
If I drive the VW or Land Rover, no problems.
If I drive the 996 or Boxster I get stopped and questioned every time!
One agent at the checkpoint in the middle of the dessert on 95 even asked me to pull over and park up - just so he could take a really good look at the 996.
I was ready to show papers (being an Ex Pat Brit), but all he wanted to know was where I got the car, how much, how fast etc etc
I think they get bored and some of them are obvioulsy gear heads so take any opportunity to check out a P-Car.
Chris.
