i have a valve cover gasket leak too. as i understand from several porsche mechanics, this is not an rms leak and a non-critical issue that needs to be addressed immediately. it's more of an annoyance in my opinion than an rms leak.
where did you take your car, btw? i go to rusnak in pasadena.
also, please consider becoming a member. the benefits and great advice i've received have save me thousands in repairs and countless hours in frustration. this board and the people on it are top notch.

No that is not an RMS leak...
A RMS leak is a REAR MAIN SEAL. This is the seal that encases the crank where it connects to the flywheel.
A valve cover leak is between the head, and the case that incloses the head and valvetrain.
Here is a Valve cover leak (as well as a sensor leak):
And here is an RMS Leak( as well as an IMS leak):
Ask me how/why I know

Verify that it is not oil leaking past the plastic spark plug sleeves. These O rings are notorious for leaking. Pull a plug and stick your finger in the cavity. Easy fix.

LMAO....thanks guys, feeling much better. Those pics helped, btw I really am a member- I renewed a few weeks ago and didn't mind paying one bit. I already saved approx 400.00 from a problem I had with my ignition. I did it myself and man it felt great!

Rayng......I got my 60k service done by an indy shop in Glendora...it's called Bauer's German Automotive , and the guy seems to know what he's doing....he charged me 800.00...Rusnak wanted 1900.00, I swear.
