Funny you should mention that but I couldn't help but notice the nice distribution of scores across intervals!

While the intervals are not perfect, they do fall as I would suspect.

i forgot that there are $5000 dollar 911's and $200,000 911's but I guess I still thought that there would be more folks above the 500k mark

a better survery would have been:

of those who bought their 996 new what is your income
...then a break down in 100k increments to 500k

...next time

average 2 family income is still below 100k in this country so certainly a 'wealthier' sample set here on average

Less than 1/10th 1% of people in the United States have an annual income of more than $500,000. Median income in the States is $25,000 for individuals.

I really don't think it matters. The question was "what was is the household income distribution of members of this board?" and you got your answer.

If you're looking to convince yourself that everyone who owns a Porsche has a $300K+ income, then you'll be disappointed. Certainly my contact with fellow PCA members suggests that there's a wide distribution of backgrounds. There are some very wealthy people, but the reality is that there are a fair number of people who either do 'okay', or have saved for quite a while to buy their Porsche.

It's the car that matters, not the income of the person behind it. I personally have no patience with an obsession with wealth. Character is all the matters and obession with the possesions of others is a sign of poor character.

you crack me up

1)i start a survery
2)get a bunch of responses (one of which was yours)
3)you tell me WHY I am doing the survey
4)Then finsh with a partially vailed suggestion about poor character and obsession with money?...which feels sort of directed at me.

do you need a hug or something? did you have a bad day?

am I just reading this wrong? or do you just have me figured out?

that's it I'm buying a gallardo...that ul show you!

you are too funny

It wasn't written that way, but feel free to interpret any way you choose. I don't know you well enough to say that's the case. I was just stating a general opinion.

LOL When I worked in Manhattan I tried to persuade several of the drop dead gorgeous girls that I met that character was the most important factor in a relationship, but unfortunately they remained steadfast in their obsession with wealth.

Just to build on that......

The 2005 IRS figures are as follows:
Top 1% earn $295,495+
Top 5% earn $130,080+
Top 10% earn $94,891
Top 25% earn $57,343

If you would like to build your survey on proven descriptive stats then you could make your intervals mathc these and thus know where "996" owners generally are in the distribution.
