Trying to always work hard and sacrifice so the people he loved could have the nicer things in life and didn't starve. Working day and night so he could afford education, health care, leave us somehting when he's gone. And wow, he worked so hard so mom could be there for us, stay home, support us, love us and give her everything she ever wanted. He may havnt' been there much, but he was a great provider.

2. He didn't work hard, didn't try hard to put food on the table. Wasn't really concerned with making a better life for us. Wasn't worried about getting us things on Xmas. Never made much, never saved. Couldnt help us get educated. Din't care if mom had the nicer things in life. Made her go out and work, and put us in day care with people could have cared less about us. But Im glad he sat around the house all the time and had the time to give us such great emotional support, when he wasn't working. He was always around, but didn't work to hard to provide for us...
I think I'd rather be on my deathbed as number 1. How 'bout you?

Actually, I'd say that neither is correct and that life is about balance.
If you're not there for your kids, then why bother having them? They sure as hell don't appreciate you if you're not there and you're not part of raising them - hence the reason why so many kids are spoiled brats, as their parents think that money is a substitute for love, attention and raising them with good morals.
It is possible to work hard and have a good family life - the two are not mutually exclusive.

5. An astonishing amount, really, but if you think I'm going to name a number with two ex wives lurking out there, you're crackers.

LOL You are doing better than most. Generally one ex wife will do you in. But what the hell , you helped ease the financial worries of at least two women.

Thanks. Yes, I did better than a lot of guys, but you can never get the time back. Still, #3 was totally worth waiting for!
Meanwhile, I have this advice for you: If you get the urge to marry, consider this option first: Just find someone you hate and buy them a house.
