Default 996 back seat room

Is there any more / less room in a 996 than a 964? I currently have a toy 964 and am considering a 996 as a daily driver. The room in the 964 is fine for my needs but if there was less I may be in trouble.

Having gone from a 964 cab to a 996 cab I can say there is much MORE room in the 996. Don't get me wrong, it is still not an adult size back seat, but I can get 2 carseats in back of the 996 and the 964 couldn't get any. Most of the extra room seems to be width, but there is some extra depth too.

Thanks - car seats are the concern.

Have both. A lot more room in the 996. 13 year old fits even! Barely but fits.

While we're at it, how would you compare a 993 backseat to a 996 backseat? Improvement as well? Same concern.

thanks!

I use my 2000 C2 as a DD and occasionally need to take my kids with me. My kids are 12 and 6(needs a car seat) and I have no trouble fitting them in the back. I would say the rear seats in a 996 can comfortably handle a person up to about 5'2" in height.

What an awesome car we have, it offers world class performance one minute and the next minute I am driving my wife and two kids to mall. Let's see you do that in a Ferrari or Lamborghini.

Are the dimensions the same on the 996 Cabrio?

996 has a longer wheelbase than the 964/993:
92.5" vs 89.5", which probably contributes to the increased interior room.
I looked at 993's when shopping for my 996, and I was far more comfortable in the 996 (6'5" tall).

Compared to a 996 coupe? Same space, but the rear seats have a different incline. Slightly forward on a cab, slightly backwards on a coupe

Cabs have rear seats that tilt forward a little compared to coupe.

I can't imagine seating adults in back. I've done it and would only tolerate it for 15min or less. Kids fit great and even better without a car seat when they are over 6 yo. 993 and 964 should be similar in room.

A slim, tall, attractive blonde fits very neatly with her bottom in one seat and her feet in the other, even for extended distances. The brunette was up front.

Just FYI ;-)
