Power Seat Blowing Fuse
My driver's seat blew a fuse, so I replaced it and it blew again the minute I pressed the memory button.
Now I have to go get extra fuses to try it out. I have a feeling it might blow the fuse again. Is this an indication of a serious electrical problem?

There may be a loose wire causing a short, which overloads the fuse causing it to burn out. If you are not adept in diagnosing electrical problems/issues, take it to your indy shop or Porsche dealer and have them check it out.

I bought a packet of 5 pcs 30amp fuse coz' I was expecting war.
Put one in, touch the lever, zapp!
Put another one in, touch the memory button, zapp!
Put yet another one in, and managed to move the seat, I was like "Yes!". Moved it back and forth, seat back down and up...no problem.
So I quickly pressed the memory button and got it in my position before I have to drive like a retard again!
Tim: I got a flashlight and looked under the seat, something has to be wrong, probably a chafed wire somewhere...I saw the bunch of wiring down there..."Woah!!! I'm not going there!"
Newport: I tried adjusting in the seat as well as off the seat. It blows both ways, and when it worked, it worked both ways too.
And so...it's good for now. I'm not touching the seat adjustments for now unless I have to.
I'm just glad it's not the motor $$$.
What do you experts figure out of this?

How difficult is it to dismantle the seat? If it's just a chafed wire somewhere, I'm pretty confident I can find it with the seat turned over. It's just the wiring harness down there that's intimidating! And once I find the spot, it's just insulating it with some electrical tape, right??
Thanks All!
Thanks All!

I have not removed the seats, but I don't think it is too difficult. See page 7 (Installation Procedure 2 Steps 1 - 4) in the attached instructions for the Smarttop/Remotetop installation procedures. This should allow you to get easier access to the wiring harness so you can check out the wires. Hope this helps.

Thanks Tim! I browsed thru' that, looks like it should help a lot!
I will check it out later when I have time.
I'm also thinking...if it doesn't mess-up again for the moment,
I'm gonna leave it alone. I really can't do anything like that in this heat in the garage.
Maybe in a couple of months when it cools down.
But if it messes up again, I might have to sweat it.
