Wax? I stopped using wax some time during the last millenium!

Lately, I've been using LiquiTech products -- FinishPrep, FinishFirst, etc. They make a line of stuff just like Zaino does starting from the prep stage. Obviously, one would clay first before starting any regimen.

Here's a good guide if you aren't already aware of it...

Edit... I'm assuming you don't have that plastic crap all over your car!

I've always had black sports cars.
Have tried several brands of wax, polish, etc. Also own a Porter Cable.

The best product I ever came accross is Zaino. Their #5 works like magic on swirls. Even better than using a Porter Cable.

Use following process :
- wash with water/dishwash liquid mix
- clay bar
- put on Ziano 'lock'
- apply Zaino #5 (multiple times in case of grave situation)
- finish with Zaino #2
- repeat zaino #2 every 6 weeks

Success !

Your daily care of the car is more important than the type of wax/sealant you use for keeping the brand new wet look (without mirco marring and swirl marks). The frequent washing with, a good car shampoo, using the two bucket method of washing and avoiding any type of commercial car wash (touchless or not) along with a nice stock of microfiber waffle weave towels for drying can go along way in preventing many of the swirls and mircor marring you see on black cars. Some imperfections are just not going to be avoidable so regular use of sealants/waxes/and hiding products, not to mention polishes will be required. Personally I have been impressed with Zaino's new line of products Z2-Pro and the new Z5.
