Best shine for a black car?
Ok here is my car....what sthe best, deepest, shiniest, most liquid looking thing I can do (or most likely have done) to the paint? Zymol? Zaino? Rejex?

I love your car - now I want black rims for sure. Also, the shine looks amazing in these photos. Are they old? I'll look forward to replies, as I continually struggle with my love/hate relationship with my black color. When it is clean and shiny, I love it more than anything, but I'm such a perfectionist that I start to go crazy after a while when swirl marks reappear (I hand wash and use synthetic towels that I bought through an autopia link, but the swirls slowly come back). Kudos again - that is a great looking car.

Thks...those are pertty recent pic and it was dirty, hadnt been washed in a few weeks....I just had it washed today and yes it looks great when clean, but I am trying to keep the swirls from showing and give it a deep dark show car finish.

I think you'll like the 3M swirl mark remover for dark colors. Works great.
I've had good luck with polymers on dark finishes (ie, black ). I believe the Zaino on your list is a polymer; don't know about the others.

Sorry I don't have any answers for you but I just wanted to say your car is sick, sick, sick. And by that I mean very mean and badass looking. I don't normally see convertables as looking that intimidating. But yours most definitely is that.

I wash my car and then put it in the garage to drip dry. The next time I want to drive it I go into the garage with the lights out and get in the car and drive away. Do the same on return and it is a painless.

Try P21S or S100 or Pinacle as a wax. Blackfire or Optimum as a sealant. If you have swirls or marring = micro-scratching, the waxes and sealants will only hide them for a short period. Prep is really the most important thing to a good finish. Your car probably was previously prepped well thats why it still looks good after not being washed for several weeks.

When I had my rear bumper done recently I had the body shop polish it....I think they color sanded it...so its prepped very good, and it does look great, I guess I am a perfectionist....lol....I wanna KEEP it looking this good. Another thing that got me...in the next parking space over is a brand new black S600 Mercedes with the new Nano paint technology, and that car looks like the paint is wet! At the end of the day, mine will have dust on it, the benz will still be perfectly clean. I LOVE the black, but its MUCH harder to keep clean then say Artcic Silver.....

Newport996: When I had my front hood/bumper done the body shop polished it with 3M Hand Glaze... apparently very good stuff, that most body shops use... they told me in a few weeks to get it waxed, which I did and it looks like the shine in is locked in (but ask me again in 1 month!)

Dust build up cab be slowed down by using a quick detailer like poorboys QD+ or FinishKares FK425. 3M hand glaze is good stuff but it just hides imperfections when it wears off you see it all. Also glazes are new paint safe in that they alow it to outgas which wax and sealants do not which is why body shops use it.
