Hmmm ... engine "moves" on revving?
Just had my 02 Targa inspected, and I noticed, standing behind it, that when the guy revved it, the tailpipes would move, right would dip a little, then the left as it revved back down. Is that normal or do I have a bad motor mount or something? Sounded a little rattley.

Depends on how much it moved.
There is a spec in the factory workshop manuals regarding motor mount 'set'.
Fairly simple to replace/update the motor mounts if you prefer.

The engine, if there is any give, will rotate from right to left when accelerating, NOT left to right. This means that your left pipe will dip lower and not your right pipe. If the engine is mounted properly, there is barely a noticable movement of pipes.

Of course there is always the issue of left/right confusion wen dealing with cars (is it your left when looking at the front or rear of the car).

Well, I was standing on my head at the time. I could've got it wrong ;-)
I never noticed my 993 doing that, but I never looked for it, either.
