Default Porsche most leave now what

ok so i posted earlier that i hit 100k. so i got to wondering what to get next. i mean i ove my car but it's time to get something new. I can't afford to get another porsche unless its aroudn 35k. so i kind of rather get something newer. i was thinking a lancer evolution. ive obessed about that car for a while and the price is right and mods are cheap. (plus i live by AMS and if you and evolution fan you should know what that means). another car would be getting an e36 bmw m3 and supercharging it. should come out to around 26k-to 30k. and then im stuck. i mean i could save up and get the new bmw m coupe. but thats 50k so i don't know if i want to drop that kind of money. i want the next car to be easy to mod since im going to make it a show/go car. so any opinons on my choices are welcome also any other cars you want to sugguest the please do. o and almost forgot does anyone here know how to "exactly" again "exactly" import a nissan skyline r33. i don't want to hear "i think" or "a friend of my friends..." the cars legal if you look in the list of legal imports on this one goverment page just what do i have to do once its over here.

Why not supercharge your 996? I think you would be looking at about 12K.

i rather let someone else try and get the porsche to 200k but supercharging it doesn't sound bad . does anyone know how much i should expect to pay to get the engine refurbished with new parts.

You can get a brand new engine for around $8K directly from Porsche.

These cars are supposed to be good for 200k easy.....I wouldnt count out your car yet....I have owned a few cars over 100k...including my current 996 C4.....My Saab Turbo had over 250k on the original turbo and engine....only major work on it was head gasket and valve job...when I sold it, it needed a $15 part to fix an oil leak...new owner got a GREAT car....My RR had 150k on the clock when I sold it...also running great then....I plan on keeping my 996 C4 as a daily driver for years to come....I'll add another weekend Porsche when the time comes...maybe a GT3....

Having owned an e36 M3 before...AND having modded the hell out of it(around 600rwhp), they dont hold a candle to the 996...

I allready have a feeling that the 996 is an amazingly built car, and built to last. Dont worry about the mileage.

Another factor is, our cars depreciation is near the end. The e36 M is plummeting...

IF you had to get another car, i would get a 99-01 BMW M coupe and turbo it...That would put you around 28k...and they depreciate very slowly...

Big difference between an 99-00 M coupe and an 01 or 02

You can get a 99-00 BMW M coupe for around 20k, it has about 220hp(same engine as the E36 M3, but with less intake and exhaust)

A 01-02 BMW M Coupe would cost you more, probably around 35k, but it has the same engine as an E46 M3, but with less of an intake and exhaust yeilding around 315hp.

The 01-02 cost more, but are much rarer and would hold their value better. Also the 99's don't have traction control.

Back to your questions, yes the EVo is fast, handles amazingly, and the seats really hold you in place, but the car is very cheaply built, no way that would make a reliable daily driver, better it be a weekend/track toy.

The 02-04 Z06 is a great ride. just sold my 02, can get a mint one for $30k, have unreal handling and accerlation and they are very realible, and maintenance is cheap. Just need to buy tires every year.

Mod the 996 into a club racing 996. It'll be a blast!

a nice e36m3 with sc will easily blow your 30k budget. most e36 needs new suspension if they still have orig. and if you want to put more hp on it, there are many things you need to do, water pump, radiator, you should get oil cooler blah blah... adds up fast.

R33, LOL. PM fongster. importing a GOOD R33 to USA is a LOT more than 50k.
