Had an 84 carrera coupe painted midnight blue at the factory with light grey interior.
Now have 97 993 cab in Zeinth blue with tan.Much more of a stand out combo.
I think it looks really good w/the top down.

My Lapis Blue 996 came with a Savannah Beige interior, so I have grown to like it. It makes the interior seem larger. It kinda grows on you, but so can mold, so there you go. My non-P-car-owning buds like it. They think it's beautiful.

Prefer Lapis Blue Metallic wrapped over Savanna Beige. Blue-over-blue or blue-over-grey just looks like overkill to my eyes.
Natural brown might look alright; but I prefer the contrast of Natural Brown with Black, Basalt Metallic, Midnight Blue or Atlas Grey. Back in the day, I actually had a black Audi A4 with custom Terra Cotta interior (or natural brown, in Porsche parlance). It's a striking colour combo.

Beige, although the Savanah beige is a little yellow. I would have preferred natual Brown, but they are very hard to find. Also, with the brown there are issues with misc interior parts, like vents, etc. that are not available in natural brown unless you find them in leather, so you end up with contrasting colors.

I like (and am looking for) the gray interior. The first one I test drove had Savanah Beige. It looked really bad, almost like it got brighter, rather than lighter, with age. Ugh-al-lee. So I started of hating any of the browns. (Apologies to those Savanah Beige owners!)
Then I came across this:

Absolutely beautiful combo! Cinnamon Brown and Lapis Blue.
Too bad it's way over my budget!
Anyone know when Cinnamon Brown started appearing as an option?

Lapis blue is probably my favorite color on these cars, because it is understated like silver but a lot less common (there are seven 996/997's in the garage at my apartment building and six of them are silver!).
Usually I would have thought grey or tan would be the best interior color with blue, but for some reason I really don't like either in the 996. I recently saw a lapis 996TT with a black interior, and to my surprise, I thought it was the best combo I've seen with the Lapis. Probably hard to find though, because "black and blue" is probably not a combo most people would order.
Curious if anyone here has that color combo.

Is there any way to discern the colors from the VIN?
Does anyone have a list of colors vs option numbers?
