Default Newbie with Price Question

Hi All,

I've been lurking for several months and doing research into what I hope will be my next major purchase -- thanks to all for the helpful info!

After much research and several test drives, I've decided to focus my search on an '02 - '04 C2. As such, I wanted to pass by my latest find to you wise folks for opinions on the price/value:

'02 Lapis Blue/Black partial leather (I'd prefer a lighter color interior here in SoCal but I could do black)
Only ~16,700 miles, CPO warranty thru 4/08, very clean car w/ all maintenace records, all service done at local dealer
PSM
Advanced Technic Pkg -- 6-disk CD, Bi-xenons, Bose, Headlight washers
Comfort Pkg -- Power, memory seats, lumbar
Heated Seats
18" Turbo Look II (that I will have to de-chrome)
X54 Chrome exhaust tips
Color wheel caps

I've been able to get to a price of $54K. I still think this is a little high -- I'm thinking ~$52K -- but I'm wondering if the premium might be worth the "practically new car."

What do you all think of the option list/value? And, clearly, any purchase will be predicated on passing a PPI.

Thanks in advance!

Dan

If you love the car, the $2K difference isn't worth losing the car over IMO. The person selling the car also probably would let it go for $2K under his/her asking price so just play it by ear.

If it's worth it to you, buy it.

I totally agree. Get the car you want and don't worry about 2K, and drive the snot out of it and enjoy!

Sounds a little high... I just bought a 2003 cab for $58.5k at a Porsche dealer, warranty until April 2009. If you can get it at the lower end of the range you quoted, I think you will be doing pretty good. Agree with prior posts though, if you love the car, go get it and forget about the $2k.

s14, Riad, Dutchie -- Thanks for your posts.

Dutchie was going in the right direction -- I'm wondering if the $54K is "too high" or on the "high side of fair"... Kellie blue book lists out at $49 and change...

The only other thing that I'm wondering about is the color combo -- my preference would have been lapis/gray or lapis/beige -- I haven't seen a lot of blue/black cars. But not sure that should keep me from a car that otherwise has most of the options that I'm looking for (the only thing missing is full leather) and seems to be a very good, low mileage car... I just don't have a sense yet as to how far and few between good cars are...

Thanks again.

Personally, I do not care for black interiors and because of that I have never owned a car with a black interior. I have an '04 C2 in Lapis Blue over Graphite Grey with deviating Metropol Blue carpeting. I think the interior is rather rare and is very nice looking. The Metropol Blue gives a good color connection to the exteroir color, IMO.

Here are a couple of pics of mu car. Sorry the interior pics are "washed out." It was an extremely bright November day when I took the pics.

Just be sure that you don't 'settle' for a $50K+ purchase. If you're not comfortable with the color combo, keep looking. Your car is out there for you to find in your exact color and probably with most of the options that you want! It's worth the wait to have the perfect machine in your garage.

All -- thanks again for all the replies.

Tim -- while lurking, I've read many of your posts and have really liked your car. Thanks for the extra pix of the interior. Very sharp.

Kirk -- thanks and I agree on not settling. I'm just trying to decide whether the interior color is that big of deal to me.

I'll keep you all posted. Thanks again.
