Radar Hardwire Power

Radar Hardwire Power
I know it seems like this question must have been answered 1000 times, but I can’t find anything definitive. In a 2003 Cab, is it advisable and possible to get the power from the entry light motion detector cluster in the center of the windshield, or are you better off bringing up the power from the fuse panel and hiding the wires?

Running from the fuse box or center console will definitely get you a switched power source, but then you have to fish wires up the A pillar. The dome light is located conveniently, but I believe none of the power sources are switched.
If you can always remember to turn off/unplug, the dome light is closest to tap. I recently figured out a way to use a computer fan power extension cable to tap the dome light connector without having to cut into the car's wiring, but I really wanted to go with a switched source so I ran a phone cord around the A pillar to the center console (I found pins that fit the console plug, see my post in the GT3 forum).
