Some of you may remember my post about the canvas disconnecting from the plastic rear window on my 2000 convertible.
Well, after careful consideration I decided to go with the new GAHH top with the glass window (based on the Boxter rear window).
Ordered the top last week (had a good experience dealing with GAHH - nice and professional people), and had it installed earlier this week.
Picked up the car on Wednesday. Washed it this morning and....noticed that the canvas is starting to disconnect from the glass window. Dang !
1500$ for the top, 900$ for the install and back to square one.
I talked to GAHH this afternoon, but none of the technical people were around. We'll se on Monday. Pisses me off though. This is my daily driver. Can't really go without it.
Not in a good mood ...

I heard they had problems with the boxster tops with the glass windows when they first started offering them. sounds like a similar issue, I heard they replaced the tops and covered install.
Other than this problem, were you happy with the top? I covet the glass window but am unsure because of the reduced rear window size. Does it bother you at all? Is it really noticable when driving?
I was thinking about it, but decided against it...the reduced rear window size was the kicker, plus I had heard of this problem with the Boxster tops. I am getting a new plastic window tuesday, my top is in good condition, so new plastic window and I am set for a few more years.

I really like it. The smaller dimensions don't bother me at all. Enough visibility through the rar view mirrow.
The glass window is worth the extra 500$.
I never had it done, but I recall reading a post on this forum that stated it's stitched in.
Both. Glue + single row of stitching.
The glue gave up on mine. The stitching still holds things together.
I do not know though whether there's enough of a seal to prevent water from dripping into my car.

Ouch....now even after they send you a new one you are always going to wonder when it's going to go too. Do they offer any kind of warranty? You may want to see if they will give you some sort of extended warranty. You are probably like a test case for them since the top with the boxter window is a new design.
