Post Key Fob Range???

The range of my key fob to lock/unlock the doors seems to be very poor!!! Sometimes when standing next to the car I have to press it several times to make it work.

I started playing with it today and it seems that if you are in the front of the car it works better.

Is the receiver for the key fob in the front of the car or on the dashboard? How can I improve the performance from behind or far away.

It's very annoying when you get 20ft. from your vehicle, try to push the button when it's on your pocket and have to walk back to the car! My ford F-150 works from like 30yards!!!!

Battery might be running low, certainly sounds like it if it is bad right by the car. But it was never 30 yards in the open. In a concrete parking garage maybe.

well first of course would be to replace the battery if its old. How old is your key fob? The fact that you have to push it several times is abnormal. The range, compared to other car models, has never been very good and, yes, it does seem be activate the locks differently depending on where you are standing.

Press the metal part of the key to your chin as you push the button. Your body acts as an antenna. Chicks dig the look too...

The key fob is only a month old but I'll check the batter anyway. Thanks.
