Default 2001 Cab pricing

New to 996's and looking at a 2001 C2 cab 6 spd, 31,000 mi 1 owner with records. Clean car fax, needing a PPI. A visual check of the vehicle appears clean. No leaks. Options are the 18" turbo wheel, technic pkg, comfort pkg, hard top. lthr steering wheel, CD player. Lapis blue. Asking is $42,000 but I think I can get it for $40,000.

Thoughts on this price? This is as new as I can afford to go. Or am I better to wait and save for a 2002. Thanks.

Looks like a fair price. I paid 9k more from a high line used dealer with a good rep. For comparative puposes, my car has a few more options, and had 13k on it when I bought it 3 mos. ago.

My PPI was useless, as they didn't catch a faulty alternator, which fortunately the dealer took care of for me. After the fact, I brought it to a highly reputable indy mechanic, who gave it the thumbs up.

As for the 2002, it's predictable what both the 3.4L and 3.6L guys will say.

That's seems like a pretty fair price range - I bought a CPO 2000 Cab at the end of last summer for $45k with 38,000 miles.

Looks like a pretty good price to me. Been shopping for a while now, and just pulled the trigger (pending clean PPI on Monday) on an 01 C2 Cab Atlas Grey with Grey Full Leather, Aero Pkg, Full Wood Trim, 18" Sport Designs, Technic, hardtop, 33k miles. They were asking $55k, paying $50k. Considering it is local, I could test drive it personally, and look it over with the shop during PPI, so I was willing to pay a little more. Plus I don't have to pay shipping or travel to pick it up.

AND I LOVE it!

Go for it if you like it!

If the car checks out you've done well at 40k. That's a very fair price for that car, please post pics if you buy it. Good luck!
