What's the average lease payment for 996 & 996TT if you have excellent credit? With no down, 18" wheel and cd-changer.

Depends on the year, options, term, mileage etc. Range from $800 to 2000+. If I end up leasing my 996, the car is about $110,000, 48 mo, 10k miles /year, no cap reduction, excel credit. The monthly should be about $1500 / mo. A identical 2002 right now would be a lower residual, but hopefully you would get a better deal, maybe $1400/mo? Its complicated because of all the variables.

There are two different profit centers that need to be negotiated here. Once done, the numbers can not lie.

1) Sales Profit: The amount you are willing to pay for the car over invoice which is the sales profit (MSRP margin is around 13%-15%) This step is done with the salesman and good cop bad cop sales manager. This is where you should agree on the price only--for the car, per your specs.

2) Finance/Lease profit. Here the finance dept. is responsible for bringing in their profit to the store through lease/bank charges and add- ons ie) lo-jack, armorplate etc. A 1% overage charge on the dealers cost of money will net the finance dept. approx. $3K on a turbo. Make him show you a rate sheet AND make sure that lender is on the lease doc's, otherwise he can bait and switch you to another (and lower cost) money source without giving you the benefit. .25 basis points over his cost of money should be agreeable.

Ed's numbers are close. I don't know if I got a good deal or not because we got the car in December 01, FWIW, we have a 02, C4, Tip/Cab, 18" Fikse, over $102 list. 10K miles/yr. 0 down. 4 yr. lease with tax....$1,363/month.

Regards,
Tom

'02 C4S, P04 package, supple leather, painted rear center console

$1320/month, 36 months, 12000 mi/year
first payment down

I now lease because most of my mileage is deductible due to business.

McKenna Porsche dealer's money factor rate is .00350 for 36mo. Is it too high for a used 01 Porsche Turbo w/12k miles on it? I have excellent credit, but everywhere I check online is around .00259

A .0035 money factor translates roughly to 8.4 percent. That sounds high, even for a used car.

What kind of money factor rate I should expect from a Porsche dealer.
