Saw a canoe on top of a 996...
Do you guys want me to post the photo? I could'nt believe it. How cool? Looked like a 2000 996 Cabriolet (top up), blue. In the city (Chicago) none the less. Who is this guy. I applaud you. Use the car and enjoy. This is probably common in Europe, but in Chicago? Car was all muddy too....Just thought it was kind of cool. Thanks.

Well I haven't carried a canoe BUt I have carried my bike, ski's, kayak, etc. on top of my car C4 cab. I take my kids (5 and 7)skiing in the winter (hardtop on) with the porsche top box with ALL their gear in it. The other parents with their suv's just gawk!!!

Hey Deano: What you saw in Chicago with a canoe was only the new test mule from Porsche . Since the SUV has been such a success, Porsche has decided to expand the recreational market. Here are some "spy" photos from the test track:
