Check this out.. In Germany *points* and *insurance* are not in any way connected to each other. You get points for moving violations, and if you get 12 points, it's bye - bye license (or you can lose your license immediately any number of ways). But points do not effect what you pay for auto insurance. Claims made on your auto insurance, and the age of the driver(s), and number of years experience are the determining factor. The longer you drive without a claim, the lower your rate of insurance.
