Default Car Insurance problem

Off topic but here goes....my 20 year old daughter just got another speeding ticket (total of 8 points in 2 years) and I was just notified they aren't renewing her on my policy....need advice from anyone in NJ.....what do I do now.....what insurance companies are the cheapest with "high risk" drivers. I have 5 cars and my Home Owners policy that I can serve up to a new insurance company....or should I just get a seperate policy for her and keep my policy as is...thanks for any thoughts.

Sounds like not only does she need high risk insurance ($$$) but she also needs a p/t job to pay for it

Growing up, if I was 8 pts in 2 yrs I would loose my car! Man you are lenient. Sorry I coudn't help with suggestions about companies. Hopefully somebody willchime in to help out.

Here are a couple of suggestions.

1. Sell her car and buy her a bicycle!
2. Make HER pay for her own insurance!

As a 20 year old I have to say I can't believe she has 8 points and you are now trying to find another insurance for her. High risk driver's usually end up having to either use one of those senate insurance type deals were you pay $10k/year in 2 week payments or a state insurance pool if your state has one and even the ultra expensive comapnies won't cover her. Stick with your current insurance company for your own stuff...if you ever need a claim or have some bad luck you will still have some leverage that way (plus companies don't like people who move around, so if you move around you will find it harder to keep moving). I would take away the keys until at least half of those points are gone (that apparently means no more car for 2 years in NJ since it's 3 points off for every violation free year in NJ...well up to 3 anyways whatever that means). I wouldn't even let her pay for her own.

Perhaps she could take a defensive driving course to have some of the points removed? Most states would suspend her license for this many points in that short amount of time. Time to concentrate on the problem, rather than the solution.

NJ MVC defensive driving program will take off 2 points and can be used once every 5 years.

1st of all, in NJ, most ticket you can amendment to "unsafe operation" with no points. and you can do 2 times in 5 years.
did u try that yet?
i think u should tell her a thing or 2 about driving. i would let her pay her own policy.
one observision, the most dangerous drivers i see on the road is tennage girls.

It's not just you. The insurance industry keeps statistics on it and confirm exactly that.

Males have more accidents b/c there are more males under 25 driving. Not sure but I would guess that women have a greater ratio of accidents based on a ratio of number of females driving to number of accidents of that total. Either way, sub 25 yr olds are screwed in the insurance premium department. My insurance bill dropped by over half the day I turned 25. Man did I celebrate!!!

I paid more for my '90 Honda Civic Si in the early nineties when I was in my early 20s than I do now for my 997. My sister never paid a dime until she left my parents house.

She wouldn't need insurance in Illiinos as she would have had her license suspensed til she was 21.
