I watch the Subaru site i-club and the STi is a serious weapon.
300hp
300lbs/torque
2.5 ltr (ROW gets 2.0)
AWD with cockpit adjustable diffs.
Recaros
Many other goodies...
Price hasn't been officially released yet but it is expected to come in between 30 and 35K. It's a great deal and I have a deposit on the first one at my local dealer, but since I just got my '03 C4S I think I shot my wad for a while...

Guys,
The Sti CAR Magazine tested had the optional Prodrive Performance Pack, which boosts HP from 261 to 300 with a revised ECU.
The US car should be equal to the euro Sti with the PPP.

Thanks for the clarification e6tme. Personally I would take the Lancer with 280HP officially due to Jap laws but actual 320HP.
Now if its bang for the buck then I'd take a Caterham 7 R500:
<img src="http://autozine.kyul.net/Car_Photo/Caterham/R500.jpg" alt=" - " />
- 460Kg (1000lbs)
- 230HP
- 0 to 60mph in 3.4secs
It will lap Nurburgring in 7:56 with just 230HP, faster than the GT3 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> but don't expect A/C or even a windshield <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Guys,
The amazing thing about these WRX's is their ability to handle amazing modifications (though longevity may become an issue). Just a few weekends ago I went for a drive (as a passenger) in a 2003 WRX (non STi), that had been severely modified (cost of mods still very cheap compared to Porsche mods). Car was properly dynoed at 330bhp at the rear wheels and went like stink. What is amazing is the way that car can go around corners, almost avoiding all laws of physics....
