Tim Wasmer - pits and chips on the glass will show through the film as it is clear. The film does offer 99% UV blockages and minor heat reduction properties.

There is a hard topcoating to it that resists scratching from windshield wiper usage. Just a fyi, this product is not what some would think as paint protection film installed onto the glass. This is an ultra clear product that is designed for windshield application.
