Default Too Good To Be True?? 2003 996 in Ft. Worth.

Found this car on eBay. Looks interesting as I'm hoping for the right '02 or '03 to pop up for me. The miles don't scare me and the price seems low. Car is on Autotrader too at $45,500.

Anyone possibly able to take a look at it for me?. Dealer has minimal history and no other high end cars.

Opinions? Thanks all.

Pull the warranty history w the VIN. The whole car is in good condition but not excellent. Is there a reason? If carfax looked OK, order a PPI at the local dealer.

That is without a doubt the cheapest price I've ever seen for a 2003. Maybe it's due to the mileage, which takes the car out of it's warranty range. If it checks out thats not a bad buy right there.

Fort Worth? Isn't that real close to New Orleans?

It looks like it is just a basic C2, base interior, radio, no PSM etc. It seems that it is priced a little low, even with its lack of equipment. This one should not be bought sight unseen.

PM me, or e-mail (td873@hotmail.com). I'm in Dallas, but Ft. Worth is a nice trip (if I don't see any Vipers). If you want, I can help as a go between if you want a PPI done.

I wouldn't say its a no option car. It has rear spoiler, flared rockers, heated seats, electric seats, Bose radio, aluminum instrument dials, xenon lights, 18" carrera wheels. Other than the lack of PSM, it is pretty well equipped. Price is cheap. It look at it very very carefully.

That car has been for sale for a long time. I test drove it back August- October last year. Baillargeon keeps moving the car around between their dealers. They had it in Fort Wroth and brought it to the Audi dealership in Bedford so I could drive it. It was pretty rough car, exterior and interior. The clutch was fried, had a very stiff clutch pedal and needed replacement. It didn't pull very hard either. It had a good service history, just the car was not very good. The car had 50K miles in only 2.5 years. Being out of warranty and high miles, it will be a tough sale. Before you test drive it, ask if they have done a recent service and if they replaced the clutch. Last year the car was about $48K and the way it has dropped, it looks like they have still not found someone willing to take a chance on it.

Thanks for the offer TD873 and thank '02 Carrera. You're write up saved me a lot of time and effort! There are cars out there, I'll wait for another good opportunity. I'll be in the forum soon as a member!

That was very kind of you to write this up, it really explains why the car is priced so low.
