Totally concur with that statement. I have ordered form Gert in the past. I found it hilarious that I can get a FedEx from Gert in 2 days but I can't get a UPS from Oregon to Nevada in 1 week!

I totally agree. I purchased his aluminum pedals and they arrived super fast.

Do you have a phone number for Gert? I have a question for him. Is he in the U.S.? The Carnewal site is somewhere in Europe.

Thanks,
Adam

He is in Belguim so I don't think a LD call is worth it. But he responds to email very quickly.

Question regarding this. Does everyone also get the follow up letter from Fedex, looking for import duties and such?

Sure do. I've gotten a FedEx letter for every order from Gert.

Gert's service is top-notch. He even gave me a Rennlist discount on the 3-spoke steering wheel without a group-buy.

Yes, I have gotten the same FedEx letter.

LVDell:

Thanks. I sent him an e-mail last night. Hopefully I'll hear back today.

What's the typical duty charge, %? I suspect there is a brokerage fee as well.

Didn't even think about that letter when I purchased and wasn't very happy when it arrived but paid the fee. I have no problem paying my duty, what I was pissed about was that FedEx charged a fee for paying the duty for you when you could have very well paid it in advance had you know about it.

They (FedEx) charge you a customs duty as well as an "advancement fee".

Dell, that is exactly what I was getting to. Both Fedex and UPS have discovered this new loop hole for increased earnings. I get it for items from Canada as well.

Yup Gert's a good guy, bought my suspension from him. When the US $ was stronger ordering from him was a no brainer.
