C4S Delivery
Waiting for my C4S
Ordered on January 30th, tentative July build, $2500 deposit. June build confirmed approximately March 13th, additional $2500 deposit. Assembly confirmed complete June 12th. Loaded on ship June 19th. Shipping direct from Germany to San Diego via panama canal on the "Golden Fan" scheduled to dock in San Diego July 8th. Then via truck to Vancouver, should have it by July 22nd. Allowing 2 days for PDI and installation of sports exhaust, should be driving it by Wed, July 24th. So approximately 6 weeks from completion to possession. Getting it on a direct ship rather than stopping in 2 ports en route really helped.
02 C4S, Arctic silver, black leather, advanced technic package, rain sensor/dimming mirrors, heated sports seats, sports exhaust. Sports exhaust will be wired to switch with 3 settings...loud all the time, quiet all the time or factory spec (quiet from 24-40mph)

for a june build c4s you should consider driving it for 50-100 miles before having any mods done or accepting delivery. see urbanski's threads below for dicussion of transmission problems in june built cars.

ohsixx,
Your dealer is able to tell when manufacture is complete at which point he will have a VIN for the vehicle. He will be notified when it is loaded on a vessel, which vessel and estimated arrival at the appropriate port for your geographical location. Your dealer will have been allocated so many vehicles each month so he should know more about your vehicle. All dealers have access to this info. Go to suncoastporsche.com find the newsletter and theres a list of vessels and sailing/arrival dates. Hope I don't have a tranny blowup.

i am delighted to communicate with the owner of my car's twin brother and to give you proper credit for your terrific photos
i generally purchase white or guards red porsches but i was stricken with the look of the c4s in lapis and metropol blue
i have never gotten so many compliments on a car's color before. i also appreciate this color's stealthy characteristics i even recieved a written warning last week for speeding--42mph in a 30mph zone. with my usual guard red i'll bet it would have been a ticket. i also think it helps to decorate a car with decals of your local police union they stand out very well on lapis!

What cars does the June build tranny problem effect? Only C4S or all cars? Is 7 days to ship from a build date typical? My cars shows completed 6-27, but its a 2003 so I am worried they may delay it. Any thoughts?
