Email Gert at Carnewal.com
He can get you a very nice custom fitted cover (same company that does them for Ferrari I believe. Jack over on the 996TT board has one (there was a recent thread with pics), very high quality stuff for an indoor cover.

I am not a big fan of the North American Porsche OEM car covers.
I have a Porsche Euro OEM cover, very soft lining, color crest, fits like a sock)(much different than the NA covers).
I bought it from Brandywine Porsche, ask for Justin in the Parts department. It was $375 list, their price was $250.
Not a bad time for such a purchase, especially if you still have your $100 PCNA certificate.

BTW, you can always get a dog

nealM...Only PCA members will receive the $100 cert. If you are a member and have not received it yet, be patient, you should get it in the next few days. If you are not a PCA member, JOIN!, but I doubt you'd get a cert for this year. I think it's for members on record as of the first of the year or some date. But you would get one for next year. This is the second year PCNA has done this and it was successful for them last year.
If you don't want to spend $200-$300 for a cover, places like California Car Cover Co. sells custom fit cotton covers for inside use for $120 or so. This type of cover would work fine to keep dust and cat footprints from getting on the car.

Winchester sells a 1000 FPS pellet gun for about $80. I suggest you aim a little high. Barring that, you'll need a cover with a little padding - check out Covercraft for a variety of types. Lot's of firms sell them at a discount. Keep in mind, a thick cover will take up a lot of trunk space should you decide to take it on the road, unlike the light, high-tech Weathershield cover that I use.

ltc - Is the Euro cover the one with shiny silver exterior and soft camel colored interior with red crest on hood? That's the way my last cover was, but I don't know if it was Euro - bought at US dealer. How is the Euro different from the NA?

Thanks

GrantG,
I believe what you are describing is a Silvergard cover (the name silvergard is NOT unique to Porsche BTW). I have this cover on my RSAmerica.

The Euro Porsche cover is very different from North American covers.
If you go to Porsche's website, pick a country like Great Britain (or another country if you want to work on your foreign language skills) and look at the car cover (don't know which section you find it under). It will have a colored Porsche crest and fits like a sock/glove. The NA covers simply don't fit like this and are not lined as softly as the Euro covers.

If you head over to the 996TT forum, there was a recent thread regarding this. KPV ended up buying the Euro cover for his 996TT, and posted a pic. You can always post/PM/email him for his thoughts. Another user, Jack, has one of the Carnewal supplied covers as well.

nealM,
If you were a registered member in good standing with PCA as of April 1st this year, then your $100 certificate (valid with a $200 purchase) should be on its way.

I got mine last week, there have been many other threads as well from posting that they got theirs as well.

Enjoy your car when it's delivered.

thanks for all of the responses everyone

I am actually not a member of PCA..
the 100 dollar savings doesn't matter much.. I just want to buy the best cover.

I think I will look into the euro porsche one..
does anyone know if this is a Porsche OEM cover?
