Anyone use Short-Shifter on daily driver?
Finally getting around to an SSK. I've read really great things about it on this board, but even though I understand that it will provide a much tighter feel, I wonder if it'll be too much effort for my daily driver.
I'd get the B&M if y'all give positive feedback.
Also, anyone have experience un-doing the mod once it's done? I figure if I don't like it I could always go back, but not sure if this is doable....?

I have the B&M SSK in my some what daily driver and love it. If I remeber correctly, you have to modify the stock shifter itself to install the kit. I don't think it can be reversed with buying a new OEM shifter.

I have the B&M SSk in my daily driver. I installed it about one month after I got the car. Now, 12 months and 18,000 miles later, I would NOT change back to the OEM shifter.

Just installed my Schnell SSK a couple of weeks ago on my semi-daily driver. Not too tight, don't be concerned.
You can reinstall the factory shifter but you would need some parts because you have to cut some parts off to de-install the OEM shifter.

B&M for over 3 years. Love it. Drive it daily.
Only negative is that 1st gear requires some effort (increased pressure) to go into when the car is cold, but the benefits waaaaaaaay more that offset this minor inconveniance

These cars should have come with a SSK. After a few months of having it installed you'll more than likely wish it was shorter.
Jerler - How did your install turn out? Do you like it?

So then you think the SSK should be standard and if you don't like it you should have to pay extra for the original SSK (slop shift kit ) ???
But I do agree, what they could have done is make it standard and then as a "no cost" option you can elect to have the "long throw" kit aka slop shift kit!
