Rear Main Seal Update Due Soon
I checked the wife's coupe again the other day and the THIRD RMS is leaking! This car only has 25K miles and the last 2 seals have lasted all of 1k miles each.
Last week 996FLT6 posted that Porsche will be issuing a new RMS (2nd updated part) at some point in the future. I checked with the local service rep who contacted the PCNA regional rep. The PCNA rep told him that all the current stock has been pulled and a new part will be out in about 2-3 weeks.
Net, anybody with a leaky seal should be sure to get the new part as a replacement.

hmm i just got a new motor because RMS was still leaking after they "fixed" it. Does that mean I have a new motor that's also going to leak?
Maybe that's a good thing, maybe that'll lead to lemon law.....
Dealer also put reman engine part number (996.100.996.CX) on my invoice but I found the work order for bench testing a new engine (996.100.996.03) accidentally left in the car when I picked it up. So it seems I have a new engine but they want me to believe I have a reman. Weird.
Maybe that's a good thing, maybe that'll lead to lemon law.....
