Let's negotiate, go to closing, cry about renegotiating, cry some more, beg even. I can't even beleive you typed this response........................... I'd love to meet you in person so I could make fun of you IRL, dip****................................. .
It's not what you drive, but how you drive it. }{ would mop the track with you I'm sure. If you ever met "IRL" you would likely be "pwned".
Who the hell talks like that anyway?

I don't want/need his car. and thanks for the compliment, I ooze a lot of things. I still think you're a pompass dip**** with a crayola checkbook. Read your posts, read his. I don't know the guy but when a deal is made a deal is made. A man of his word is a man of his word. A chicken**** is a chicken**** otherwise known as "}{arlequin ". Negotiation is fine, negotiation is an art and is a vital process. However, negotiations stop at one time or another, usually when both parties agree and a contract is formed verbal or written. Chicken****s, you, will then try to negotiate beyond this point. Have you heard of Karma, I'm sure it will fall in your lap someday.
In summary, I think you're a dip****, it doesn't mean I hate you or want to fight you, Hell I don't even know you. For this thread, I just think you are stupid, funny, and engaging. It's all in good fun so don't take me too serious. Maybe someday we'll meet across a table and I'll be able to "school" you in negotiations. YOU ARE A LOT OF FUN, THANKS.

ok, so no one else finds it funny that he's trying to sell parts off the car w/o even knowing whether he will be able to? a little premature i'd say.... i guess waiting until it's all finalized to post his 'parts' for sale, instead of depending on a complete stranger's word, is just too orthodox.
oh but what the hell, it's fun to start a little feeding frenzy and watch 'em all line up for the loot, just so i can yank that carrot on a stick back... no harm in starting a thread just to get some attention... kinda like making world-wide-web announcements that you're "about to buy a 997tt" , or put a deposit on a lambo, or a gt3, or a vette....

Sorrry to hear the deal didn't go through. I agree that once the negotiations have stopped and you have agreed on the price (ie. the [verbal] contract is done) it's real high-school to come back with that b.s. approach.
Must confess though that I found the buyer strange from the outset - wants to buy a very-well modded car and then have all the goodies stripped out...how nutty is that (although great news for the modaholics on the board)...why not just find a plain-jane 911 if that's what you want?
Hang in there, spring is here, the cars are out and there will be more (qualified) buyers out there for your great looking p-car.

Harlequin, I couldn't disagree with you more on your defense of the reneg tactic in this case. There's nothing wrong with renegotiation and trying to pay as little as you possibly can -- as long as you make that clear to the seller. What exactly is so "admirable" and "commendable" about this person's negotiation approach? How much class and dignity is this buyer exhibiting by bringing less money than he had ALREADY agreed to? If his "supreme negotiation strategy" was to prey on the seller's potential desperation and/or weakness, then don't bitch about the undesirable outcome on the transaction as well as from the seller. At no point did Paul convey that the price may be flexible AFTER they'd reached an agreement. I suppose that doesn't bar anyone from "trying something" since the sale hasn't officially been finalized, but there's nothing dignifying about the manner of his attempt, especially at such a late stage. This has nothing to do with socio-economic status or even what's being sold. It's about good-faith conduct. He could've easily indicated his reneg intention over the phone before arriving, but instead chose to waste the seller's time in person. What makes him think the seller's time is less valuable than his?

i'm not saying there's anything admirable nor commendable about the buyer's action. i am merely pointing out that killer's response was a bit 'over the top'. the buyer probably had the remaining $3k in his other pocket, but figured there's no harm in trying just.one.more.time. i'm pretty sure he didn't expect killer to act like he's so deeply deeply offended.... he's been around on a public forum for a while, i'm sure he's thick-skinned.
what's amusing is the fact that his steadfast resolution to refuse to sell nor deal any further w/ the buyer due to his 'grave and terminal error' of trying to spend less (while being able to afford it regardless) probably cost him the sale that day. no biggie, he'll just have to deal w/ the hassle of sitting around the house another time, for another (potential, if he doesn't offend him) buyer...
i don't know the price, but let's say it was $35k. if the guy can come up w/ $32k, do you REALLY believe he doesn't have, or cannot find, the other #3k? gimme a break!...... i mean, if you want to sell the car, sell it. do it for the price that you want, but if the guy sees that you won't deal any further, and he came to buy it, then when he says, "ok, let's just do it for what we agreed on then" maybe you should reconsider stomping off and instead just selling it? that's if you want to sell and not act like you're doing everyone a favor by graciously allowing them to take possession of your highly unique and desirable automobile.... puh-leeeease...

As I understand it, all of the bling bling parts were being sold separately, and there were no go fast parts on the car, right? As such, this would be a negotiation over an absolutely stock silver 996 coupe. There is a glut of silver 996 coupes on the market. What am I missing?
Since it will be sold as a run of the mill silver 996 coupe, why not strip the parts anyway, sell them to all the people who presumably pm'd and expressed interest, and then sell the car? I am sure you could pick up a Lambo in no time.
I don't know why anyone would pay you enough for a stock plain jane 996 to justify the time and hassle of stripping off all of the bling. Aren't there any bling-meisters out there who would be willing to buy the car in pimped out mode? Seems like it would probably get a better price and be less of a hassle.
Of course, you could always trade it in for a VW . . .

i cannot even imagine what mr. killer did afterwards. turn around and pompously stomp off towards his house or did he have to push the guy out of his garage so he can authoritatively press a button to shut the garage door? (yep, that'll show him you mean business...) sounds like a bit of theatrics to me, but nice try in defending him anyway.....
