Question Alarm/Locking System Malfunction

The alarm/locking system on my '99 C4 started malfunctioning last week - thus far my dealer is stumped. The horn frequently sounds (continuously - but it sounds "tired" - not very loud) when unlocking or sometimes locking the car with the key or with the remote. On one occassion, the horn started sounding when my passenger opened the door while I was parked in neutral (engine running).

When the horn is sounding, the ignition won't work - I have to lock and unlock the door to stop the horn (it often follows with two quick horn blows indicating (per the owners manual) an alarm/locking system malfunction). Has anyone experienced anything like this on their cars?

I have all factory equipment except a dealer installed K40 radar detector (but that has been operating flawlessly since '99). The car battery indicator is in the normal range. My dealer is contacting porsche for their thoughts.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Mystery solved. Nothing but a loose connection in the alarm/auto lock system.
