Question Fire extinguisher mount on a GT3 seat?

I need to mount a fire extinguisher on my new GT3 seat. What are my options?

I still have a BK unit mounted on a sports seat that I had before. But the idea of having to unbolt that thing and re-attach it to the new seat scares me. What is more, I am not even sure the BK unit would work with a GT3 seat.

Thank you.

Don't know specifically. I bought my street 996 fire extinguisher mount from Windward Performance Products 802.387.5579 (couldn't find their website). Their located in Maine.

A little update: the Brey Krause mounting kit for the sports seat does not work with the GT3 seat. There is no central mounting point

Currently I am investigating a kit from Dave Turner's Motorsports made by Eric. Will post the results

VS,

Here's what I did to mount an extinguisher on my GT3 seats. I used a metal bar that I had gotten earlier for mounting a sub belt on stock seats and bolted that between the seat rails in front. I then drilled a couple holes in the bar and reworked the BK mount with a Dremel tool to be able to bolt it to the metal bar.

I later ended up mounting the fire extinguisher to my roll bar, where it is easier to access and stays out of the way of passenger legs. I'm pretty sure I still have the modified parts around the garage some place, so if you're interested in them, send me an e-mail.

These guys have a really nice solution for GT3 seats which includes a really cool brushed aluminum extinquisher for somewhere between $100 and $150.

VS,

what you need is the BK Anti-sub strap mount and their optional fire extinguisher mount.

I've seen it in person--John Hrad at the Porsche Store bought it and the Anti sub strap mount is identical to the Porsche Anti-sub strap mount for the GT 3 seat, except for where the extinguisher mount bolts to it.

The BK solution which costs about 3X to 4X more (including the cost of the extinquisher) isn't nearly as nice IMO as the Dave Turner solution.
