18 years old believe it or not. It was 1973 and I bought a 67 911 coupe for $2,400. That was alot of money back then.

22 (the 996 I own now). I love how there are so many p-car owners purchasing at younger ages, it's good to know the group here is doing well.....

I had a boxster S previously, but that was paid by my parents. I'm curious, for all those out there who answered 18-19, what type of work are/were you doing? I find it hard enough to pay off the 996 (and the extensive mods) in the early-mid twentites... I can only imagine if you are 18

Jon,

I answered 23, but the fact that 996s haven't held their value very well definitely helped me into mine (working for a successful internet company did the rest). Seriously. My car was $73k new... less than half of that used. And I still have CPO coverage and bought it with 44k on the clock. Granted, there's a lien on the car, but I actually have more in my checking account than I need to pay off the loan

18. I bought an 83 944 in 1995. I paid $5500 for it and financed it. (I also paid trough the *** in interest rates) 3 mo later I trade it in for an 86 that was $6000 and got $5k for my trade in so I only had to finance an extra $1k.
