Wheel Refinishing - NY
Not receiveing any feedback from wheels forum so I figured I'd try a more viewed forum.
Enjoying my new to me 2002 C4, however the previous owner must have been a somewhat "aggressive parker". The car is so clean otherwise that I would like to have these wheels(5 spoke) refinished.
After some research I have found Wheels America in Farmingdale but would like to get some feedback.
Any other recommendations on Long Island, would be greatly appreciated.

I used them to refinish my 968 wheels. The outside of the wheels looked good but they did nothing on the inside. They use cheap labor & are in a hurry...
If you can spare the wheels for a week or so send them to wheel enhancement.

Dont mess around, I love those 5 spokes! W/E would probably swap yours with almost new ones and turn your old ones into chrome donors. They gaurantee their work as I sent one back no questions asked.

How does it work with W/E? I order and then send mine to them? Otherwise much as I'd like to send the wheels out, slight dilemma is what to do/store the car until the wheels return. Spoke with the dealership, they have someone that comes to the dealership, completes the car/wheels in one day.

I have my winter wheels on now, so I can send out my summer tires to be refinished but I'd rather not.

What's with winter wheels anyway? Why the change of wheels, and to what?
On a side note do you generally use your street wheels for track?

I have some experience with Wheels America in Farmingdale. They're okay for most people who aren't that picky about cars, especially if it's just a leased car that they're going to turn back anyway. The paint job on the outside is okay from a distance. The color matches but there's trapped dust under the paint. The edges sort of got sprayed, but not completely, so they're not smooth to the touch and brake dust finds it easier to cling to a surface that's not all that smooth. And, they did nothing on the inside (other than get overspray on it, which I had to get rid of with clay bar).
