Default Porsche 996 shifter

Can someone tell me if this item on eBay is a "genuine" Porsche part and how difficult it is to install? Thanks!

It appears to be the porsche shifter. Installation is a breeze, unsnap your old shifter boot out of the center console, and simply pull off your old shifter (and I do mean pull, sometimes they are a little stuck, but there is nothing holding them on). Slide the new one on....and this one uses a 5mm allen to tighten it down on the shifter lever. Pop your boot into place in the center console and you are done. Should take all of a couple of minutes to swap over...well maybe not that long

To be honest with you, I dont think I have ever seen a non OEM shifter for our 996. To add one more thing PorscheDoc said....Watch your face when you pull the old on off. There have been more then a few people that have punched themselvs..

Holy crap! $409 for that shifter. I bought mine new from a dealer for less than that. Heck, even Gert has them cheaper than that with the crappy euro x-change rate.

Can I ask how much you paid? I found that Suncoast (Sarasota, FL) sells it for $349.

Have you tried Sunset (in Oregon)? They are VERY competitive as well. As for how much I paid I think it was around $325 but I would have to dig up my receipt.
