What bulb size is our Fog Lights
Hi guys:
I am going to swap my Fog Lights out and was wondering what size I should use. In the manual, it said H7. However, on the internet, I found that all websites recommend H3??...Which is the correct one? Thanks.
Also, have anyone swap out their parking light

That is so weird. Mine is totally different. Could it be your source is from a 2002 911 since it stated bi-xenon? The part for the high beam and parking lights are different too...hmm
Thanks,
Sugi

Looks to me like that the standard 2000 996 fog light bulbs are H7. H3 is for what I call the "turbo style" headlights that came out in 2001 for the turbo and in 2002 for the 996.

Yes, the above manual is from newer cars but I thought yours would still be H3. Especially, given the fact that even older 911 models had H3 fog lamps. Here's the page from the Boxster's manual. That model still has the same headlamp configuration as the previous 996 cars. Sorry for the confusion.

We take them out all the time. Make sure you are turning the headlight tool in the correct direction - then wiggle the tool back and forth while you pull out the headlight with your fingers. If you have lits then you also disconnect a connector once you have slid the light out. Jeff

Be sure and get the AW (all weather) type bulb, greater forward visibility in actual fog.
I added DRLs to my 01 C4 by bridging the high side of the seat heating fuse to each, left & right, of the city/parking lamps.
LED wedge bulbs for all four (front and rear) side lights.

H6W operating at full voltage is the bulb the europeans have specified/certified for DRL use.
Most manufacturers have been running halogens, typically high beam, at reduced voltage (<6 volts)and are finally realizing that this leads to a severe reduction in bulb life.
