From another biased perspective -- given that I'm a silver fan, since it is the TRUE color of Porsche (and the official German racing color). I suggest you consider GT Silver, it is IMHO the best silver out there. And only the 40th Anniversary models came with it.

I ordered my 996 months before they even started building them (it ended up being the first one the dealer delivered). I like nonmainstream colors and they had a 993 on the lot that really caught my eye when I was at the dealer specing my car. The dealer showed me the color sample of it in the brochure and I could see why no one ever ordered it, it looked butt ugly there but was nice in person. We always called it Love It or Hate It Green (because it really polarized people), Porsche calls it Wimbledon Green. One day a guy with a 993 walked across a parking lot to tell me how much he loved the color, asked me what the color is called and then told me I was full of crap when I said Wimbledon, he even argued with me for awhile...
