Front street tire wear w/ -1deg camber?
Does anyone have any comments on how long their front street tires last after changing from the stock camber setting of 0deg to about -1deg? Any other problems that has caused you?

The neg 1 degree camber will increase wear on the inside edge of the tire considerably.I take my 996 -2 to the track often with a similar change I find that about 9k miles is it.Of course what I'm doing is very stressful to tires.Interestingly I get better wear across the tire with this set up.How does the change in camber affect yuor c-4?

I was just doing research on this. The best setup for handling while balancing tire wear is -.5f -1.4r. I have the us m030 susp. and could only get about -1.4 rear while keeping the caster and the rest of the geometry in spec. I also split the toe in front in half to make it turn in better while making it not track somewhat around. The car now handles very well with the 295's in the rear. I do think that the 265's were a bit more fun as you could get into trouble a bit more with more margin to make adjustment mid corner, but I have yet to really drive the car hard at speed in the canyons yet. Sunday I will know. I was also told that -1deg front will get rid of the understeer however as I drive the car everyday, I had to balance the tire wear. Sean

I still have my fronts set to 0deg but am thinking of changing that to -1deg. It seems that most people with 0deg camber set in the front can get 20000 - 30000 miles on their front tires. Looks like setting it to -1deg will cut that in half.
I've read in the tech manual, when you have PSM and the suspension geometry is changed, you must recalibrate the steering angle sensor. Do you think that applies if you just change the camber?

I don't have psm so I don't know. Depending on what suspension you have though, I was told that you can't run that much negative camber on the front. I have the us m030, and at that I could only get -1.4r and keep the same geometry of toe and caster so yeah, I would ask Loren if he knew that one.
