Default howdy 996'ers

After lurking in the 996 forum i thought it was time to introduce myself and start using the site. I came from a boxster s which I had for four months before I moved to the 911. Althought the boxster handled like a dream it was a little to small and as a friend of mine called it a 'hairdressers car." Needles to say the testosterone has been replaced with the 911.

I've got a few mods that will be installed when the car comes out of hybernation this weekend:

Headers/exhaust
Short Shifter
Row M030

The one thing I am looking for that I am hoping people on this forum can help me find is one 18 x 10 turbo twist wheel. The car came with one bent wheel and I am having a tough time tracking one down. I am trying to hold myself to perfomance mods this year and upgrade wheels and body next year. Any insight is appreciated. TIA.

Ahem, if you've been lurking, you know the rules: pictures.

Try these guys for a wheel: http://www.911pcar.com/Porsche_Parts...wheels_911.htm

edit- there are a lot of single wheels on ebay as well from some of the major wreckers, check it out.

Welcome.

I recommend Wheel Enhancement. They will sell you one and you usually can pick the condition you want. I have bought 2 wheels from them in my Porsche ownership days. The condition has always been better than what they describe on the phone. Good Guys to deal with.

Otherwise keep your eyes open on Ebay or the classifieds because they do show up.

Haha, I'll take some picture next weekend when she comes out of the shed.

Thanks for the lead. Unfortunately, I already tried them with no luck.

Wheel Enhancement will be first call Monday morning thanks! Are the turbo twists really soft b/c I had a slight bend in one on my boxster as well?

I have always felt the 18" turbo twist are not the most durable wheels. Both wheels I have replaced have been 18" turbo twist rears (both on a 993). But I have no evidence to indicate they are any less durable than anyother OEM 18" wheel.

Both mine were rears as well. Maybe they would be be more durable if they were narrower, but then that wouldn't be any fun. ; )
