Default Coolant Leak!

Came out from my office last night to notice a puddle under the car....topped off the coolant tank, drove it home, temps and gauges perfect....once parked in the garage, noticed a dripping from under my skid plate....any ideas...couldnt tell it was too dark to see. Coolant tank was not wet...leak seemed to come from under the engine...water pump? ideas? I'll flatbed it to the dealer first thing monday.

OK...I looked again....its not the coolant tank...the tank is bone dry on the outside. The leak is coming from under the engine. I have a protection plate on the car and it seems the coolant is pooling on that then dripping off of the plate. My guess would be a water pump....or some hose....ideas? Where is the water pump on a 996?

Water pump is below the alternator. I would remove the plate which disquises where the leak is coming from. It is probably just a hose.

Just heard from the dealer....IMPACT DAMAGE....something hit the underside of my car and that apparently broke a coolant pipe under the car. They are covering it under warranty. I even have a engine protection plate...so don't know whats up.....or how it happened, at least my car will be back tomorrow as good as new.
