Good information woody-77, 4 sound and Tool Pants
It seems the 4th generation seal carries the 997 101 212 00 part number, and according to Uwe, of RennTech forum, the 997 engine has an extra crankshaft bearing to reduce vibration in this area. The tool also allows to push the seal in further to minimise the unsupported crankshaft length.

The m97 also has a lightened counterweight on the crank at that position, all in an effort to decrease the load at that point.
