Cleaning black bumperetts
I finally found a way to clean wax residue off the black bumperettes on the rear of a '99-01 996.
I've heard of various paints that cover the black parts and I've tried all sorts of cleaners (WD40 , Dawn etc..) with varying results. This has been driving me insane everytime I wax the car. Yesterday, for the heck of it,I put on some plain petroleum jelly and rubbed it into the plastic real well and amazingly, they look as good as new. Now if it will just last a while, but so far it still looks great.

I just had mine painted body color. Its easy, cheap, good looking. I did it to my 96-993 C4S and also to my current 02-996 C4S.
Will try to post pics when I get around to it

I've got an even better solution for you. Use a white eraser and erase all the wax marks.. Works amazing, and you aren't adding anything to the plastic that may harm it. Try it, I do it every time I wax my car.
