Does anyone have a link for how to replace a coolant tank in a 99 996? I found one when I did a search but the link is dead.
It's leaking under the cap, could it be a faulty cap?
Tank is full, is there an overflow on the top of the tank?
Thanks for any help

Take your cap off and check the part #, if it doesn't end in -01 then REPLACE IT IMMEDIATELY, don't do the tank yet!
My car was leaking and I was all prepared to do a coolant tank, but started with that, and that solved the problem.

I'd check it's the only leak. I had a coolant leak but it was in the front left wheel well. We found it when I added black light fluid to the coolant and then waited for the coolant light to come on. Now, walk about the car with the yellow glasses and the light and you'll see any leaks. The dealer recommended this approach.

My car has the upgraded -01 cap and it leaked. It was replaced 4 years ago along with a new coolant tank which was why I thought it might have needed a new tank. From what I can see it just needs another cap, no cracks in the tank, pressure test was fine. Thanks again for the info.

I took mine into the dealer upon smelling the coolant. It took them a week with a complete tear down of the system. Good news is they gave me a boxster...I felt it was my job to see what its limits were. A week later I got a new coolant cap and no follow on problems.
